Romeo Santos was born on July 21, 1981, in The Bronx, New York City. He is of Dominican descent. He is a singer, songwriter and record producer known as the "King of Bachata." He started his career as the lead singer of the bachata group Aventura, which was formed in 1993. The group was composed of four members: Romeo Santos, Lenny Santos, Henry Santos, and Max Santos. The group's music was a fusion of traditional bachata with R&B, hip-hop and other modern styles.
Aventura became one of the most successful bachata groups of all time, with hits like "Obsesión," "Por Un Segundo," and "El Perdedor." They won numerous awards, including Latin Grammys and Billboard Latin Music Awards.
